panLab Console was deployed at this years Glastonbury Festival, at the brand new Woodsies Tree Stage. Described as ‘a new playground for sound’, artists came to the Woodsies Tree Stage from different fields to share an audio-visual spectacle.
panLab Console provided a spatial solution in conjunction with a DiGiCo SD9 console. The production was supplied by leading event solutions company WaveCo Productions. WaveCo are no strangers to Glastonbury Festival, having previously provided a full stage package to The Avalon Stage. This years audio deployment at the Woodsies Tree Stage was looked after by WaveCo Productions John Green, who comments:
“We chose panLab Console software as a central part of our sound system design for Woodies Tree Stage at Glastonbury 2024, because it offered great integration and control interface to do what we required at this stage. The Tree Stage was designed around providing exciting experimental immersive soundscapes to offer transcending gripping sounds with subtle and exciting idea of space. We got involved with Innovate Audio on the Console ‘DiGiCo SD’ Beta testing to insure confident deployment with the software when Glastonbury came around.
At Glastonbury we really needed an all round software solution to manage object movement, scene management and external control, (allowing artists to generate their own placements and movements). panLab handled everything we asked of it with ease and I felt like I was not touching the sides of what the software offered.
Support from Dan at Innovate Audio has been brilliant through beta testing system testing and tuning, and troubleshooting remotely while we were on site at Glastonbury.”
Highlights from Woodsies Tree Stage included Jon Hopkins – RITUAL – Exclusive Album Playback Listening Experience on Saturday night and a dive into the microscopic lives of fungi with natural scientist, Merlin Sheldrake. Leading ambient artists included Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, presenting Rainbow Dome Musick with spacious sounds and field recordings from Ana Roxanne and KMRU in his deepening and experimental path.
