Just one month after launch, panLab 2 will be making its West End debut. Our software has been supplied to the Re:Emerge season of plays at the Harold Pinter Theatre, as part of a rental agreement with Stage Sound Services.
panLab 2 will add comprehensive spatial audio capabilities to J’Ouvert, a new play by playwright Yasmin Joseph. The production tells the story of two best friends, battling to preserve tradition in a society where women’s bodies are frequently under threat.
J’Ouvert features sound design by Beth Duke, who can’t wait to get started with the software. She writes:
‘I am pretty excited to be using the innovative panLab 2 alongside my sound design for J’Ouvert, as part of the Re:Emerge Season at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The tool will enable me to save time programming my cues whilst simultaneously creating an accurate spatial audio design. Not having to have it open after programming means operationally things will still be simple, and I can’t be more excited to get started!’
Following J’Ouvert, the Harold Pinter will host Anna X, staring Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin. This new play by Joseph Charlton tells the story of two friends Immersed in an addictive world of front-row fashion shows, private views, and endless parties.
Sound designer Mike Winship will also be incorporating the software, he writes:
‘panLab 2 has immediately become an essential part of my sound design toolkit, allowing me to move sounds around space with incredible ease. I’m thrilled I’ll be able to put it to good work on Anna X, in the Harold Pinter Theatre this summer.’
